IXSM Travel would like to share heartfelt condolences with fellow Japanese, who have lost loved ones in the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
We extend our deepest sympathy and our hearts go out to the people who are still suffering from continuous after shocks.

This tour is conducted for the purposes of supporting the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami victims. By visiting and participating in volunteer activities of the March 11 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami areas, visitors will witness with their own eyes how devastated those areas are. Witness the strength of the KIZUNA, the people's “spirit of unity”,

and how it helped the locals at this dark time. The Kizuna Tour consists of Volunteering in the devastated areas of Tohoku combined with some holiday activities. This will lead to help rebuild our beloved Tohoku Region.
Tour Highlight

The first tour is set for the date marking the four month anniversary of the disaster. The tour will be guided by an english speaking tour conductor who will show you around the disaster area before the volunteer activities commence.

Your two days of volunteer activities will be done in Minamisanriku Town where Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard visited as the first head of state to visit Japan after the disaster.

The accommodation during the tour will be in Sendai City as the most hotels near the disaster area haven't recovered properly yet. Sendai city is the largest city in the Tohoku Region and the downtown area is almost fully recovered from the earthquake so you can enjoy dinner, shopping and other options after your volunteer activities.

The final day of your stay in Tohoku, you can enjoy cruising Matsushima Bay which is ranked as one of Japan's Three Great Views and also rated 3 stars by Michelin Travel Guide Japan. Matsushima was also affected by Tsunami but it was much lighter damage compared with other surrounding coastal areas.

You can relax and enjoy your final night in Sendai, unwinding as you enjoy tasty food and drink and the unmistakable Japanese hospitality. You will also feel special knowing that your visit and contribution to volunteer activities has helped during this time of dire need. The Japanese people, especially of this area, will gain much emotional support from your visit. As you travel, shop and dine you can enjoy knowing that you have contributed to the economic revitalization of Tohoku and Japan!
